GDAL, OGR - Basics

GDAL (Geospatial Data Abstraction Library) and OGR (Open GIS Simple Feature Reference) are libraries for reading, processing, and writing spatial vector and raster data. GDAL and OGR are highly efficient and because of that efficiency they are often running in the background of other software, such as QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS. This course covers various topics using GDAL/OGR in the command line, from the reading of data, to the converting of files from one format into another, the querying of attributes or the transforming of coordinate systems.
