GeoServer - Introduction

GeoServer, a free map server software, enables effective spatial data management through the provision/distribution of spatial data as web services (WMS, WCS, WFS). As a core element of many spatial data infrastructures (SDI), GeoServer comes with a user-friendly configuration interface and connects to a variety of data sources, such as PostgreSQL / PostGIS databases or file-based structures.

This course teaches you how to publish web services from various sources and how to integrate them in web mapping applications (e.g. Leaflet, OpenLayers) or desktop GIS (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS). The course also covers authorization and security.
